The LINks are a new way of making sure that everyone's voice can be heard. From 2003 until April 2008, each NHS trust had a Patient and Public Involvement Forum doing a similar job. But last year the government abolished the forums and at the same time it said that the people paying for health and social care services - like Bradford Council and the Primary Care Trust - had to do more to listen to what people really wanted.
