The new Government wants to change the way health and social care services are run. It has written a White Paper which is its ideas of some big changes it thinks should happen to make the NHS better. The paper is called Equity and excellence: liberating the NHS.

The government has also written a paper called Greater choice and control. This paper says that people should be able to choose where they go and who they see, to get the health care that they want. The government wants to know what kind of choices you would like to make about your health care.

After asking people what they think of their ideas to reform the NHS, the government has now updated its ideas.
Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS set out the government's vision for health services. After taking public opinion into account, it has now made some changes to these plans. These changes are in a new paper called NHS: Legislative framework and Next Steps.
